Storm Bringer by NicoleCadet Storm Bringer by NicoleCadet
Time Taken: 4 hours
Topic: Storm
Medium: Digital - Painter

Another for the fantasy sketch group. It's not a 'finished piece' but I'm using these as exercises in producing work quickly and trying new styles. I finally figured out how to use the 'just add water' tool in Painter (only been using Painter for 3-4 years :P ). Being an avid comic book fan the word 'storm' conjured up images of superheroes/ x-men/ powerful beings. I don't like painting fan art so this is my 'superhero' based on storms... nothing too exciting I know, but she was fun to paint!

Used my own reference but I don't look like that ;) Nor do I have a cool purple cape or leather gloves!

Maybe I'll get around to finishing her off, maybe not :) Got a lot on my plate!

Thanks :) I enjoy working on faces that aren't 'classically' beautiful or perfect.

I'm loving these speed paints.
They're so full of life & vibrancy.
I find that original pencil sketches & images like these possess an energy that 'fully completed' paintings don't (not that they aren't fab also), but this gives your more of an idea as to how the artist thinks & works...
I really love it!

Thanks :) There's a lot of things I don't fuss over when I do speed painting... which is kind of freeing. I completely understand what you're talking about!
